At least two people are injured and homes damaged after a tornado hit Nash County, North Carolina. “Currently we have a triage center up,” Nash County spokesperson Jonathan Edwards told weather.com in a phone call. “Some homes have been damaged.”
The triage center is set up near a mobile home park. Edwards said there was also damage to a building that houses pharmaceutical company Pfizer, a major employer in the area.

He said the scope of the situation wasn’t yet clear, but two people were transported by ambulance with minor injuries. Photos posted to social media by WRAL-TV showed at least one home completely destroyed.
The storm produced two reports of tornadoes in the area, which includes the town of Rocky Mount about 50 miles northeast of Raleigh.
A portion of Interstate 95 was shut down due to fallen trees, and about 2,200 power outages were being reported in the affected area.
