An earthquake in southern Turkey caused a geological shift that moved the lithospheric plates by three meters, said Carlo Doglioni, president of Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).

The Arabian plate has moved about three meters in the northeast-southwest direction relative to the Anatolian plate. This is about a structure in the border zone between this world, the Arabian Plate, and the Anatolian Plate, the expert told the Corriere della Sera newspaper.

According to the scientist, it is as if Turkey had shifted to the southwest. According to Doglioni, the total magnitude of the fault was at least 150 kilometers, everything happened in a few tens of seconds. (SOURCE)
