A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck near southern Iran early on Thursday, GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), it said.

This comes on the heels of a huge magnitude 7.3 quake that struck Japan earlier today triggering a tsunami warning, knocking out power throughout Tokyo, and derailing a train.
