(OPINION) Express – Bible followers were left stunned and the Church declared a miracle had occurred when the apparent “blood of Jesus” was found in a 1,200-year-old relic. In Christianity, the Eucharist, also known as the Holy Communion, is a rite that is considered a sacrament in most churches.
According to the New Testament, the ritual was instituted by Jesus Christ during the Last Supper. During these moments, numerous miracles have reportedly occurred, usually consisting of unexplainable phenomena such as consecrated hosts visibly transforming into blood and flesh.
And journalist Mike Willesee revealed in his ‘Blood of Christ’ documentary how the first of these so-called acts of God occurred. He said: “The first-ever case of a bleeding host goes back 1,200 years to Lanciano in Italy. “Since then, the Church has declared Communion hosts to be miraculous well over 100 times.
“Professor Eduardo Linoli led the first-ever scientific investigations into these inexplicable occurrences. “He found human heart tissue in the 1,200-year-old relic.” Prof Linoli explained during the documentary what he reportedly found. He said: “I treated the flesh and found out it was myocardium. “I also found arteries in the vain typical of the inner part of the heart. “So it was a heart for sure.” Mr. Willesee went on to reveal how the Church declared the act a miracle.
