(Fox News) – Nike appeared to have pulled Washington Redskins merchandise off its website Thursday night hours after team sponsor FedEx publicly called on the franchise to change its name. Searches on Nike’s website for the team’s apparel yielded no results.
The Washington Redskins name was also scrubbed from a menu listing all 31 other NFL teams on Nike’s online marketplace. “We have been talking to the NFL and sharing our concerns regarding the name of the Washington team,” Nike said in a statement Friday.
“We are pleased to see the team taking the first step towards change.” The company has yet to comment on the removal of apparel. Nike, FedEx, and PepsiCo were urged to pressure Washington team officials to change the name and to end their business relationships with the franchise if ownership would not comply. READ MORE
I really find it hypocritical that Nike uses slave labor to make its products and sell them at exorbitant prices to Americans.
People like Jordan, Kapernack, or any sports star take millions in contracts from Nike. Then tell Americans how to believe, live, etc. Look up how and were all your Nike merchandise is made. It will make you really think.
We have Red skinned people! We have White people! We have Black people. We have Brown people! Cleveland Browns gonna have to change? How many people boycotted the games because of their names in the past??? No, it is let’s find a reason to confront! Let’s make them back down. They may be rich and powerful, but they will kneel to our demands. Likewise, anyone in your company suggesting you change, get rid of them! I have never seen such nonsense,-no sense, something besides sense, non-sense. I’m very disappointed at people allowing the few to rule the masses! Stand your ground!
Oops, I forgot to mention we have Yellow skinned people. Don’t wanna start something!
