A large Mississippi congregation has opted to leave the United Methodist Church over the Mainline denomination’s divisive debate over its position on homosexuality. The Orchard, a Tupelo-based congregation that has an average attendance of approximately 2,700, reached an “amicable separation” late last month with the UMC’s Mississippi Annual Conference.
Mississippi Conference leaders explained in an announcement in the regional body’s publication The Circuit Rider that the separation had been finalized between the megachurch and the denomination. “The prior appointed clergy at The Orchard have voluntarily surrendered their credentials and are no longer United Methodist ministers. The Orchard Church has ownership of its property and will continue their ministry in their satellite locations,” noted the announcement. READ MORE
That’s because they were never Christians to begin with. These people exist inside the Christian denominations for the express purpose of subverting the Gospe, corrupting its truth and to defame the name of Christ and the faith that he established. Both Paul and Peter the apostles, reminded us in the scripture that there will be those who would creep into the church “bringing damnable heresies”, by whom “the way of truth would be evil spoken of” and wjo are seeking only to “pervert the gospel”. But we as Christians are told to “stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and to be not entangled with the Yoke of bondage”. We are to “Hold fast to the profession of our faith.” And lastly Jude warned us to “earnestly contend for the faith that was once and for all time delivered unto the Saints.” Christianity is the only faith that these people are attacking in this way. Because it is the one faith that exposes this lifestyle as a sin. In no obscure terms. Romans chapter 1 is crystal clear. So there is a hatred against it and a conspiracy to destroy it from within as they did when the church was first established long ago. Christians were put to death as they are being today for their stand for righteousness. True Christians will have to make a stand one way or the other. The Bible says “Cry aloud and spare not, lift your voice like a trumpet, show my people their transgressions, and the house of Jacob their sins.” If you do not believe in the Christian faith and its Creed, find another religion. It is as simple as that. Unless of course, you have another motive.
