(By Kelly McDonald, Jr) In 1967, Israel fought the six-day war. During this war, they re-took Jerusalem. This means that 2017 is the Jubilee year for Jerusalem’s freedom from captivity. As the anniversary of this special event draws near, the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) has recently taken steps to promote the Temple Mount. A new foundation has been proposed that would promote the historical connections between the Jewish people and the Temple Mount.

Despite the UN’s attempt to abolish Jewish connections to their own holy sites, the Israeli government remains mostly united to support the new foundation. There remains some opposition, mainly from Muslim representatives who claim that the Temple Mount belongs to Islam alone. The rebuilding of the Third Temple is a necessary step towards advancing prophetic events, including the rise of the anti-Christ (Daniel 9:26b-27). Expect more news on this subject in the near future!
