A pioneering robotics company has unveiled its ambitious plan to deliver a staggering 100,000 humanoid robots over the next four years.
This announcement follows a significant milestone for Figure AI, a firm renowned for its innovative approach in “giving artificial intelligence a body,” which secured a contract with BMW last year—marking its entry into the commercial sector with a high-profile client.
Currently, Figure AI is developing a specialized fleet of humanoid robots tailored for BMW, designed to carry out comprehensive “end-to-end operations” in various industrial applications.
With the aim of broadening their market reach, the company is eager to capitalize on this early success.
Brett Adcock, the visionary founder of Figure AI, expressed confidence in the market demand, stating that they anticipate shipping a total of 100,000 humanoid robots within the next four years.
He revealed that the firm has also formed a partnership with a second unnamed commercial client, which he describes as “one of the largest companies in the United States,” indicating the firm’s growing influence in the robotics landscape.
In an update regarding their collaboration with BMW, Figure AI has claimed that the autonomous fleet they are developing operates at an astonishing 400% increased speed and boasts a seven-fold improvement in success rates compared to previous benchmarks.
The company’s mission revolves around “expanding human capabilities through advanced AI technology,” particularly in light of the “unprecedented labor shortages” currently affecting various sectors across the United States.
This initiative underscores the critical need for innovative solutions to address labor challenges while simultaneously paving the way for a new era of automation in the workforce.
