(OPINION) Evangelical Christian Zionist leader Laurie Cardoza-Moore criticized conservative commentator Tucker Carlson after images emerged over the weekend depicting him alongside President Donald Trump and Elon Musk in the White House.
Cardoza-Moore stated, “Tucker Carlson’s antisemitism does not reflect the values of the Trump administration,” and further described Carlson as “the slightly savvier mentor of Candace Owens, promoting a new woke-right, fake-Christian form of antisemitism.”
As the host of the syndicated television program Focus on Israel, which reaches billions globally, Cardoza-Moore noted that she had been “inundated with calls from concerned Jews and Christians” following the release of images showing Carlson wearing an oversized MAGA hat next to Trump and Musk.
She emphasized, “We, the people, elected President Trump with an overwhelming majority and with a mandate to support Israel and our Jewish brethren in the face of rising antisemitism, anti-Israelism, and anti-Zionism.”
Cardoza-Moore contended that under the Biden administration, policies have contributed to increased violence against Jewish communities in higher education, K-12 institutions, and places of worship.
She asserted, “Our 47th president is undoubtedly Israel’s greatest ally in the White House; however, Tucker Carlson’s antisemitism is reprehensible.”
Moreover, she accused Carlson of utilizing his platform to amplify antisemitic rhetoric. “In the aftermath of the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust,
Tucker has opted to provide a platform for Holocaust revisionists, antisemites, and purported Christian leaders financially linked to the Palestinian Authority,” she remarked.
“He disseminates conspiracy theories against the Jewish people and unjustly maligns the Israel Defense Forces by falsely asserting that they intentionally target civilians.”
In conclusion, Cardoza-Moore directly urged for Carlson’s exclusion from Trump’s political sphere, stating, “Tucker Carlson should not be permitted near the White House.”
