(ETH) – An Ohio school district just crowned a lesbian couple prom queen…and king raising concerns among some parents at the Kings Local School District board meeting back in April, according to WLWT.
The mothers of the 18-year-old lesbian couple, Annie Wise and Riley Loudermilk addressed that they’re proud of their daughters, despite the concerns of other parents. “Sorry, but I believe that there are still two genders, a male and a female,” one parent said.

The decision to crown the two girls was reportedly made by the student body. “This is solely a Kings High School senior class nominated and voted-on initiative,” Dawn Goulding, the school district’s community relations coordinator, told the NBC affiliate.
