(ETH) – The Proud Boys leader, Enrique Tarrio, was reportedly arrested by D.C. police on Monday afternoon after a warrant was issued charging him with the burning of a Black Lives Matter banner taken from a historic Black church during a demonstration last month according to a report from NewsTimes.

The report stated that police stopped a vehicle that Tarrio had been in shortly after it entered the District, according to Dustin Sternbeck, a D.C. police spokesman. He went further to state that it is believed that Tarrio, who lives in Miami, was coming into the District from the airport.

The report revealed that Tarrio was charged with one misdemeanor count of destruction of property in connection with the Dec. 12th burning of a banner stolen from Asbury United Methodist Church. Tarrio himself told The Washington Post last month that he was involved with those who burned the banner.
