(ETH) – NOAA forecasters are warning that there is a chance of minor (G1-class) geomagnetic storms occurring on Jan. 6th when a double CME likely strikes Earth’s magnetic field.

According to spaceweather.com, The impact could spark the first significant Arctic auroras of the New Year. This precedes two dark filaments of magnetism that erupted in the sun’s southern hemisphere this past Saturday, on January 2nd.
