(OPINION) ETH – An alarming percentage of people today believe they have the ability to communicate with the dead, In fact, according to a new poll that was reported from RT News,
revealed that one in every hundred UK citizens stated they have the ability to communicate with the dead including prominent figures and celebrities including the likes of Celine Dion and Kesha also say they can sense the departed. This has caught the attention of some scientists who have been working on trying to understand how this is possible.
According to the report, this practice appears to be much more popular than one might think, the curiosity has prompted a team of researchers to scrutinize dozens of mediums and spiritualists in an effort to unpick why some people believe in the paranormal.
Spiritualists believe that human souls continue to exist after death and can communicate with the living through a medium or psychic. This is where I want to interject what the Bible says regarding this subject. First of all, they got it right when they said that the human soul lives on after the point of death,
However, according to the Bible, their spirit goes either to a place called Hell or it goes to a place called Heaven and remains there until the day of judgment. Of course many will disagree with this statement, especially those who are “seventh day Adventists” who believe in what is called “soul sleep”.
However, The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. However, if an individual is not “Born Again” or have a personal relationship with the Lord, their spirit will not depart their body and be with the Lord but instead will be escorted to a place, where I believe is in the center of the earth called “Hell”.
This can all be found in the New Testament in the Book of Luke Chapter 16. However, After the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, this holding chamber of those who had died prior to Christ was released and was moved to a location mentioned in 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 by the Apostle Paul called “Paradise”
Now back to the part they got wrong, We are forbidden according to the Word of God, to speak to the dead. Therefore, many of these people who are claiming they are “speaking to the dead” are actually communicating with what I call “familiar spirits” instead, This was the case with King Saul in the Old Testament who attempted this as well.
Sadly, this practice reached the peak of its popularity in the late 19th century and has reportedly made a comeback in recent years, with UK research indicating that there are hundreds of thousands across the country now practicing this forbidden practice. I want to end with this strong warning. DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT attempt to communicate to the dead, whether it’s through a medium, a Quija Board, or any other source that operates in this. You are unknowingly or willfully opening the door to the demonic into your home and lives.
