(ETH) – If you plan on dining in while living or visiting California you may want to make sure you bring your mask with you, that’s because the Governor’s Office from the state of California just released a statement about mask-wearing highlighting extreme measures that governments are taking to combat COVID-19.

The statement was recently released The statement was released via the governor’s official Twitter account and is urging citizens to “keep your mask on in between bites” while dining. The state even created a graphic to illustrate the practice. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as California has been one of the strictest states when it comes to implementing mask mandates, with many cities employing fines to enforce the state’s orders.
One example is Beverly Hills, where “$100 fines are issued for the first offense, $200 for the second offense, $500 for third and subsequent offenses” of violating the state’s mandate. The tweet has been met with various reactions. one response raised several questions:
“Should we wash our hands after touching our mask each time we remove it between bites? What if I’m eating chips and salsa and I go for a double-dip? Is that technically two bites since it’s the same chip?” Former Vice President Biden has increased his mask-wearing rhetoric while on the campaign trail, even suggesting this week that he would force people to wear masks in “every federal building and facility” and even during “interstate travel”.
