(ETH) – Pier 1 Imports is the latest tragic victim of a business permanently closing from the coronavirus pandemic. According to a report from WITN,  The home decor chain announced today that it would “begin an orderly wind-down” of its remaining stores as soon as possible after announcing it wasn’t able to find a buyer due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The company has stores located in Greenville, New Bern, and Morehead City, all of which remain closed due to the pandemic. The company announced that it has plans to sell its inventory as soon as stores can reopen. The report indicated that back in February, the Forth Worth, Texas retailer filed for bankruptcy protection and had hoped to find a buyer before the pandemic struck.
