(OPINION) Michael Snyder – It is so sad that today most Christians in America have absolutely no idea who Daniel Rodes was. He was a mighty man of God, and the following facts from his life come from his obituary…. Daniel David Rodes, 79, of Mount Crawford, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018. He was born in Pleasant Valley on March 21, 1938, and was a son of the late David Michael and Naomi Ruth (Koogler) Rodes.
Daniel was a bishop over numerous churches in the U.S. and overseas. He co-founded with his wife Estdan Printers, Dandee Printing, Truth, Light and Life Mission and Truth, Light and Life Ministries International, and had a daily radio broadcast sharing the gospel.
He was united in marriage on Nov. 29, 1961, to Esther Marie (Hege) Rodes, who preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2012. Over the course of his ministry, he had many supernatural experiences with God, and during one of those supernatural experiences, he was shown that the day would come when Christians would viciously attack those that were warning of coming judgment…
I saw Christians trying to destroy other Christians and I watched in horror as they tried to destroy all the prophets of God and all those who were warning against coming judgment. They were teaching their people not to listen to “prophets of doom,” but that Jesus loved them and they would be “raptured” before any evil happened to them.
I watched as these people faced severe persecution and judgment that they were promised they would not see. They turned against those who taught them lies and cursed them to their face. Because of this deception, many so-called Christians turned against true Christians and were ready to destroy anyone who practiced true Christianity. READ MORE
I don’t know this brother, but what he says is biblical to a “tee”. This is prophesied in Scripture. One such passage is found in Luke 12:42-46.
The faithful follower of Christ will give the strong message called “meat in due season,” calling for the church to get ready for the soon coming of Jesus. But the Matthew 24:48 describes another called, “the evil servant” who says the “Lord delays His coming” and beats, or wants to, the brother that is faithful in giving the warning. All through the church history, this has been the same. Even from Jeremiah’s time, which found Jeremiah being imprisoned in a miry pit because they would not hear his warnings, to later times. Jesus reminded the Jewish leaders that their fathers killed the prophets (Matthew 23:31); and in the centuries after that, many lost their lives seeking reform, but were not tolerated, finding themselves burnt at the stake or tortured beyond measure in the inquisitions.
Although we have no accurate record of who all of them were, many lost their lives during the ages of sin’s reign on this earth. Many no doubt lost all reputation and were slandered at the hands of those who resist reformation. Revelation 6:10 refers to one situation surrounding martyrdom, and Hebrews 11:36-39 refers to other such occurrences. If you haven’t heard of St Bartholomew’s day massacre in 1572, it would be well worth looking up. The following gives one account, but doesn’t give all the detail truthfully. https://www.thoughtco.com/saint-bartholomews-day-massacre-4173411
Thank you. I agree.
