(ETH) – A large flaming object that looked like a fiery tornado was spotted spiraling through the sky for over twenty minutes in Cambridgeshire this week and left onlookers stunned.  According to a report from The Sun, Gerry Underwood, 55, spotted the mysterious flaming object at around 8 pm on Wednesday from outside his canal boat in Stretham, Cambs.

Underwood stated that: “It looked like a very thick chemtrail to start with. It looked like a short, skinny cloud. “It wasn’t moving quickly at all. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a meteorite because they are gone in seconds. We have seen hundreds of shooting stars, but this definitely wasn’t that either.”

“This was coming down very slowly and spiraling. It started to glow orange” “There were flames coming out of the back of it as well. It was really unusual.” Melanie who is Underwood’s partner that shares the boat with him, reportedly photographed the burning spectacle as it dropped through the sky – leaving a huge trail behind it as it descended into the distance.

They watched the mysterious object slowly falling for “between 10 and 20 minutes,” before it disappeared behind the trees in the distance. Gerry was moved with amazement and stated “The sheer size of it is what’s got me. When you look at the pictures, they show the trees in the foreground and its way beyond that, it was very big” “It landed beyond the horizon, that’s how big it was – we couldn’t see it land.”
