(ETH) – First, a plague of locusts caused tens of millions of dollars worth of damage, devastating East Africa in one of the worst outbreaks in decades and even forcing Somalia to declare a “National Emergency”.

Now Saudi Arabia and Yemen are in the crosshairs as roughly 360 billion locusts producing a swarm measuring roughly the size of Manhattan are descending upon the land blocking out the sun at times. What is even more terrifying is a report that is indicating that an even bigger swarm is coming soon. RT News reported the following:

“The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations has requested over $75 million to tackle the emerging crisis caused by the swarm.”
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment has come out and warned residents not to eat any of the locusts as they are likely contaminated with toxic pesticides. Another larger swarm is expected in April, which could reportedly grow up to 500 times in size by June. We are witnessing truly unprecedented events taking place.
