(OPINION) Ricky Scaparo – If you are like me, you were completely stunned by the news recently that reported that more than one billion animals may have perished as a result of the record-breaking wildfires in Australia that are finally beginning to go out as a result of rains they desperately needed but the damage is far from over as a new report is now indicating that thousands of fish have been killed after rain washed bushfire ash into the Macleay River on the NSW Mid-North Coast in Australia.
Meanwhile, According to CNN, as many as one million seabirds have died at sea in less than 12 months in one of the largest mass die-offs in recorded history — and researchers say warm ocean waters were to blame. In Puerto Rico, a report has come out indicating that bees are now abandoning their hives as weeks of ongoing earthquakes have disrupted their colonies.
As heartbreaking and tragic as all of this sounds, it will not even be close to the apocalyptic death toll that will come to the fish of the sea and the beasts of the field in the future. The Book of Revelation reveals that the judgment and wrath of God will be poured out upon the Earth in what is called the “Great Tribulation”. During this period of time,
“The first angel will blow his trumpet, producing hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these will be thrown upon the earth resulting in a third of the earth, trees, and grass being burned up. Then a second angel will blow his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, that many believe could be an asteroid will be thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea will become blood and a third of the living creatures in the sea will die.
Although there are a few that believe we are witnessing these events taking place in our lifetime, most hold to the belief that these are future judgments to come. Whether you believe you will be taken away in the Rapture of the Church or be left to endure this time of great trial and testing coming upon the whole earth, One thing is certain and that is what we are witnessing taking place in the earth in this hour is only a preview of what will come in a much greater capacity in the future.
