(ETH) – According to a report, from an affiliate out of Israel, A large meteor blazed across the night sky over Israel producing a blue flash so bright it was visible in neighboring Lebanon and Cyprus and seen across three countries by over 144 eyewitnesses. One witness claims he was driving along Route 6 on Tuesday evening when suddenly he saw a blue ball flash through the sky and later discovered his dashboard camera had actually captured the sight. The man claimed he quickly stopped his car on the side of the road to rewatch it.
“The whole sky was blue. The video does not do justice to the beauty and power of what it was. I was left speechless,” he told Channel 12 news. According to the Israeli Astronomical Association, there were over 144 reported sightings of the meteor in three countries. The report indicated that based on the number of sightings of the meteor, the object was likely very large and part of it may have survived its fiery descent through the atmosphere.
