(OPINION) BIN – Speaking at UN Watch’s Inaugural NY Gala Dinner last week, Trump’s former UN ambassador Nikki Haley commented on Canada’s recent decision to back a North Korean anti-Israel motion. The vote, which has been unprecedented in Ottowa for 14 years was a resolution in favor of the “right of the Palestinian people to self-determination”. This includes calling both the Western Wall and the Temple Mount ‘Palestinian’. Noting that Canada has never voted against Israel at the UN in such a manner before, the former ambassador noted that Canada has been historically “balanced and fair towards Israel at the United Nations”.
Haley then explained that Ottowa sold out Israel for seats that they are seeking on the UN Security council adding that: “I speak from experience when I say the United Nations presents many such opportunities to strike a deal with the devil.” The videotaped excerpt from her keynote address at the event is as follows: It’s just easier not to rock the boat. When the crowd is all going one way, it’s hard to be the only one going the other direction. But standing alone on behalf of American interests and values is not something to be embarrassed about. Standing alone for freedom and human dignity is something to be proud of. In America, we don’t celebrate the mob. We celebrate the person who has the courage and conviction to stand up to the mob.
