(Express) – Indonesia has been struck by an earthquake measuring 7.3 magnitude. The major tremor hit the Maluku Utara island at about 10.10am BST (4.10pm local time). A 5.2 magnitude aftershock struck 20 minutes later, just before 10.30am BST. It comes as Australia was also hit by a 6.6 magnitude earthquake this morning at 6.39am BST, followed by a 4.9 magnitude aftershock at about 8.30am. There has since been a series of aftershocks following the initial quake. A 5.1

magnitude aftershock too place as 10.04am local time. This was then followed by another a minute later that was 5.3. A third struck at 10.26am local time with a strength of 5.7. There have been no immediate reports of damages or casualties in the quake. “There are no reports of infrastructure damage yet,” said Iksan Subur, an official with Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency based in the regency of South Halmahera, near the earthquake’s epicenter.” READ MORE
