(Watchers) – At least 530 villages in 24 revenue circles falling under 11 Assam districts were impacted by the second flood wave on July 9 and 10, 2019. The situation is expected to get worse in the days and weeks ahead. The flood scenario in Assam has turned serious on July 9, 2019, with one person dying at Golaghat and one at Dhemaji due to floods, and one at Guwahati due to landslides, according to the information provided by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority on July 10, 2019.

530 villages in 24 revenue circles in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Golaghat, Majuli, Jorhat and Dibrugarh districts have been severely impacted by the floods. Officials mentioned that 207,098 people have been affected by floods as of July 10, 2019.
