The situation is expected to get worse in the days and weeks ahead. 530 villages in 24 revenue circles in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Golaghat, Majuli, Jorhat and Dibrugarh districts have been severely impacted by the floods. Officials mentioned that 207,098 people have been affected by floods as of July 10, 2019.
