Powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake strikes Papua-New Guinea

(WKYC) – The United States Geological Survey says the magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck on Monday about 20 miles to the northwest of Bulolo, Papua-New Guinea on the eastern end of the island.

No reports of damage or injury have been received so far. Because the epicenter of the earthquake was 78 miles deep, no tsunami threat is expected according to the Tsunami Center. READ MORE
