(Express) – A large 6.2 (originally reported as 6.8) magnitude earthquake has struck on the island of New Caledonia. There have been no reports of casualties. The quake occurred at 12.23pm local time (02.23am BST). As it stands, there have been no reports of damage or any tsunamis warnings. The quake hit 179 km (111

miles) eats of Tadine in the Loyalty Islands. Moreover, the earthquake hit a depth of 14 km (9 miles) the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed.
