(Express) -Papua New Guinea has been rocked by a huge 6.4 magnitude earthquake, the U.S. Geological Survey has reported. Here is everything you need to know after a tsunami warning was issued. The earthquake hit at a depth of 367.93km, 47km northwest of the town of Namatanai at 2.35pm UTC today.

A tsunami warning is currently in effect for the surrounding area, according to the Mirror. No injuries have been reported, but it is not the first time the region has been struck by a quake over the last year. On February 26, 2018, an earthquake of magnitude 7.5 struck the islands.
