(Fox News) – A powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck near the border of Ecuador and Peru on Friday sending shockwaves as far as the Ecuadorean capital of Quito and coastal city Guayaquil. Ecuador’s President Lenin Moreno tweeted, adding that the rattlers were felt “all over the country.” The earthquake occurred at around 5:15 a.m. local time. It struck 71 miles southeast of Palora in the Morona Santiago province and at a depth of 82 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
