(Express) – A senior Iranian military commander has vowed to keep soldiers in Syria and warned Israel it was “playing with a lion’s tail” after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue targeting Iranian forces in Syria after a series of recent missile attacks. The war of words further up the tension in the Middle East region after US President Trump’s announcement of his plan to withdraw troops.

Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, the Revolutionary Guards top commander, was defiant in the face of Israeli threats that they might be targeted if they do not leave the country.
