(Todd Starnes) – Turn off the lights, the Christmas party’s over in Ozark, Missouri. City leaders unplugged a giant cross that was a focal point for a drive-thru Christian light display in a local park. The Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based gang of atheists, agnostics and freethinkers filed a complaint alleging that the cross was a violation of U.S. Constitution. They also took umbrage at the presence of a Nativity

scene, one local news outlet reported. Nothing triggers an atheist faster than the sight of the Baby Jesus. “While we respect the interest of those who have long enjoyed the holiday display in Finley River Park, we must acknowledge the federal Constitution and its interpretation by the U.S. Supreme Court,” the city said in a prepared statement. The city said they are banned by federal law from displaying a cross on government property. READ MORE
