(The Christian Post) A Roman Catholic priest has warned that China’s ultimate goal is to “eliminate all religion,” urging the Vatican to reconsider a major deal with the Communist government. Father Paul of Hebei province, as the priest was identified by International Christian Concern, was responding to discussions about how Chinese Catholics should feel about the deal when he said that the current Chinese regime’s “ultimate
goal is to eliminate all religion.” As evidence, Paul pointed to the revised Regulations on Religious Affairs that were implemented in February, and have seen church closures, congregants being detained, Bibles burned, and students being forced to sign documents renouncing their faith. Other religious minorities, including Muslims, have also faced widespread crackdowns, including detentions at so-called “re-educational” camps. READ MORE
According to an online search,
India: India has Hindu 79.8%, Muslim 14.2%, Christian 2.3%, Sikh 1.7%, other and unspecified 2% (2011)
China: The vast majority of Chinese (approximately 30-80%) claim to follow some form of Chinese folk religions and Taoism. Of the remainder: 10-16% are Buddhists, 2-4% are Christians, 1-2% are Muslims
USA: Approximately 80% of all people in the USA are Christians, making Christianity the predominant religion, mainly consisting of Protestants, Catholics, and Eastern Orthodox
I think that when China and India only have approximately 3% of their total populations as Christian and consequently, when God is rejected by people/governments/countries, then life’s most precious resources such as the respect of God himself, moral values, and the sanctity of human life crumbles away.
We may be seeing the breakdown of cultures and an influx of persecution due to the lack of acceptance of the Bible’s foundational principles. With countries’ such as China and India rejection of God and even in the USA people rejecting God’s ideal principles and making their own moral rules and codes of conduct, the world is on a rapid decline. Remember it says not to add or take away from what is written in the Bible. So many people are either rejecting the truth or bending it. Maybe the tribulation has arrived?
