(Express) Kotzebue or Kikiktagruk is a city in the Northwest Arctic Borough in the US state of Alaska. It is the borough’s seat, by far its largest community and the economic and transportation hub of the subregion of Alaska encompassing the borough. The USGS reviewed the quake and put it at a magnitude 5.3, which means slight damage may be caused to buildings and other structures. There is little or no area affected or population exposed to landslides, the USGS said. There is also little risk of liquefaction with little or no population exposed.
