(Fox5NY) A measles outbreak that began when a child went on a trip to Israel now includes six cases in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and 11 cases in Rockland County. Health officials had warned about the possibility of an outbreak earlier this month when they confirmed a case of the highly contagious viral disease in a child. There is a large outbreak of the disease currently occurring in Israel.

The child flew into Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey from Israel on September 28, 2018, and then traveled to several places in Rockland County, New York, officials said.
