A frozen meal from the brand Hungry-Man has been recalled due to salmonella concerns, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). On Friday, FSIS issued a public health alert regarding concerns of products being contaminated with salmonella in whey powder that’s been recalled by the ingredient’s producer.
The Hungry-Man microwavable dinners that have been recalled are 15.25 ounce “Chipotle BBQ Sauced Boneless Chicken Wyngz” with a “best buy” date of 9/16/19. Pinnacle Foods Inc., which produces the meals, and voluntarily recalled them after being notified by its supplier that the recalled whey powder ingredient had been used in the ranch dressing seasoning supplied to it.
