Torrential rain accompanied with strong winds hit Sudan’s Central Darfur on June 21, 2018, destroying 430 homes in displaced camps in Zalingei.  According to Radio Dabanga, high winds accompanied by rain that lasted all night caused the destruction of 430 homes in the six Zalingei camps. El Shafee Abdallah, the coordinator of Central Darfur camps, said that 147 houses were destroyed at Hamidiya

camp and 150 at Hasahisa. A large number of families have lost everything and are now in the open, Abdallah said. He appealed to the benevolent and humanitarian organizations to urgently help affected people.
