According to the US Geological Survey, scientists are closely monitoring the lava bank, which is full but not yet overflowing.  The volcano, which has been erupting since early May, also sent huge clouds of ash and volcanic gas into the air today at about 30,000 feet (9,145 meters) above sea level.
