An Argentine minister issued a public apology after he gleefully ate a piece of a cake shaped like the body of Jesus Christ at an art exhibition in Argentina, Newsweek reported. Enrique Avogadro, the Minister of Culture for Buenos Aires, took to Facebook to apologize, saying he “sincerely regrets” offending people’s “most intimate beliefs” by eating the life-size cake.
The Jesus cake was created by the artist duo Pool & Marianela. According to both videos and photography, Avogadro smiled widely while indulging in a piece of Jesus’s “arm.” Images and videos of the controversial moment were posted online and quickly gained viral traction. Avogadro’s action triggered outrage from Christians in Argentina and around the world. READ MORE
Interesting.. These Christians that are outraged, are they offended that a cake was baked in the image of Jesus, or upset that the cake was eaten or both? If the cake was bowed to, would they be outraged? If I decide to make Passover bread (or any bread for Leviticus 23 festivals) in the image of Jesus and eat it, would it also be an offence against Christianity? Is there any restriction to make bread in an image and eat it, in the Bible? When Jesus said we must bake bread and eat it as a shadow of His body, did He provide the shape and size of the bread to be baked? When He said “I am the bread of life” what did He mean. A commandment(the 2nd) to NEVER build/make a statue of images of Jesus, Angels, Saints & Maria as well as anything in this world, under it, above it, has been shown the middle finger for two millenniums but no outrage is recorded or reported. An abomination (Leviticus 20 & Romans 1) i.e. homosexuality, is thrown in our faces and Churchgoers are supporting it, and they are outraged by a baked bread(cake) that must be eaten?? Hypocrites..
