Commenting on the Episcopal Church’s decision to change marriage terminology from “husband and wife” to “union of two people,” evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham said that to “change what God has defined” is “disobedience,” sin, and added that “all of this is caving to the gay agenda.” In a May 18 post on Facebook, Rev. Graham said, “I have many friends in the Episcopal Church and I was saddened when I recently learned that the church wants to remove the terms ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ from
their standardized marital vows.
