Russian military are believed to have dropped the ‘father of all bombs’ on top ISIS commanders. Reports claim Vladimir Putin’s armed forces have dropped the biggest ever non-nuclear bomb on ISIS leaders in Deir ez-Zor in Syria. The Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power (ATBIP) is believed to have been deployed on September 7. This is the same day the Russian Defence Ministry claimed in a Facebook
post to have killed several top ISIS leaders. The post said: “As a result of a precision air strike of the Russian air forces in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor city, a command post, communication centre and some 40 ISIS fighters have been killed.” Those said to have died in the air strike include Gulmurod Khalimov, who was trained in the US and is known as the ‘minister of war’.
