(By Ricky Scaparo) On Thursday, April 6, 2017, The United States officially launched a military strike on Syrian government targets in retaliation for the recent chemical weapon attack on civilians earlier in the week. This strike was given On President Donald Trump’s orders and has resulted so far in the use of US warships that have launched at least 50 Tomahawk cruise missiles. The strikes are the first direct military action the US has taken against the leadership of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the country’s six-year civil war and represent a substantial escalation of the US’ military campaign in the region. Prior to the strike from the US, Russia’s deputy U.N. envoy, Vladimir Safronkov, warned on Thursday of “negative consequences” if the United States carries out military strikes on Syria over a deadly toxic gas attack. Now new reports indicate that Russia on Friday slammed the U.S. decision to launch airstrikes against a Syrian air base in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government, calling the military action a “clear act of aggression” that would “further undermine Russo-American relations.”
Consequently enough, exactly one hundred years ago to the date the United States formally entered World War One on April 6, 1917, with President Woodrow Wilson pledging to make the world “safe for democracy.”. On this very day, the United States declared war on Germany, entering the worldwide conflict then known as the “Great War.” As a result of this War in 1917, Drastic political, cultural, economic, and social change swept across Europe, Asia, Africa, and even in areas outside those that were directly involved. Four empires collapsed due to the war, old countries were abolished, new ones were formed, boundaries were redrawn, international organizations were established, and many new and old ideologies took a firm hold in people’s minds.
Another interesting note to make is that on the Hebrew calendar we are currently residing in the year 5777 . The Hebrew letter for 7 is “Zayin.” It means “weapon,” and looks like an ax, or a sword with a handle. Many who have studied this over the previous year noted how that the year 2017 would be the “Year of the Sword”. You can learn more abut this in a video I did at the beginning of the Jewish New Year HERE. Anytime you hear the word “Sword” in the bible it alludes usually refers to “War”. One example is below:
Ezekiel 14:21-23 – For thus says the Lord God: “How much more it shall be when I send My four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword and famine and wild beasts and pestilence—to cut off man and beast from it? 22 Yet behold, there shall be left in it a remnant who will be brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you, and you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it. 23 And they will comfort you when you see their ways and their doings; and you shall know that I have done nothing without cause that I have done in it,” says the Lord God.
Another interesting point to make is that this military strike from Trump has taken place 77 days after being sworn into office. Back in the beginning of the presidential election, we reported on how President Trump was exactly 70 years, 7 months and 7 days old when he took office and Israel was regathered as a nation, he was exactly 700 days old.
And lastly, We are officially days away from the beginning of Passover on the Jewish Calendar which will begin on Monday, April 10th and continue until the 18th. Not only does Passover represent the Jewish people celebrating a commemoration of their liberation by God from slavery in Egypt and their freedom as a nation under the leadership of Moses but it also reveals God’s sovereign hand of protection given to his people through miraculous events during this process. God’s people were marked by God and their covenant with him and was supernaturally preserved by Angels and Miracles through the hand of Moses and God himself.
Have we officially entered another cycle of war? Is it just a coincidence that military strikes were launched on the exact date of the start of World War One, exactly One hundred years ago to the date? Is this only the beginning of a major global conflict that will pull in Russia, Iran, and other Nations as well? Will this war result in the fulfillment of the destruction of Damascus foretold in the bible thousands of years ago in Isaiah Chapter 17? If so we have to believe that God is in control and just as he had a covenant with his people he knows those who are his and I believe he will preserve his remnant in the land once again! This is not the time to be fearful but remember the words of Jesus in Luke Chapter 21:28 “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
