(by Kelly McDonald, Jr) Myanmar (once called Burma) has been a country marred in turmoil and civil war since 1948. Rebel groups are battling government troops for control of certain areas of the country. However, the conflict is now affecting Christians in the country.  Over 100,000 Christians have fled to Malaysia.

Some Christians have already been killed in the conflict. Currently, Myanmar has roughly 4 million Christians and many of them are ethnic minorities. Attacks carried out by government forces usually end with killing, jail time, raping of women, and/or forced migration to another part of the country. Pray for those in the areas being persecuted that God will protect them and help them find safe refuge to another country.
