The weapon of choice will be American corn. According to sources, Mexico imports billions of dollars’ worth of corn from the United States to feed its livestock. Now it appears that Mexico is
threatening to buy their corn from elsewhere and ditch it from the United States. This move is concerning corn growers in some of the very same US states that voted heavily in favor of Trump: Iowa, North Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. The president has vowed to restrict free trade with Mexico in order to protect US jobs and industry.
