(By Kelly McDonald, Jr) This week Samsung, a Korean-based company, announced that they were making serious plans to shift production away from Mexico and into the United States. If this initial move goes through, some oven ranges would be made in the USA. An estimated $300 million is part of an initial investment that would produce about 500 jobs. Though nothing is final, negotiations are serious.

 

If this particular transition works, it could lead to even more manufacturing jobs moving to the United States.

Confidence is a major factor that encourages companies to make decisions like this. Samsung has confidence that President Trump will create an environment for production to thrive. One of President Trump’s campaign promises was to bring jobs make to America. Samsung seems to be testing the waters. For Americans, the action is a sign of economic progress.
