Dear Mr. Jones, I celebrate Christmas because I celebrate my Lord Jesus Christ. You did not know me before I became a Christian and you probably would not have wanted too! I was a person looking for love in all the wrong places and I was an angry and bitter person. I had a hole nothing could feel. That has changed and I would never go back to the person I was . . . although I am far from perfect now! I have a joy and a happiness that I would not exchange for all the money in the world. I am a follower of Christ and I will never apologize or be ashamed of that fact. You see I have lived on both sides of this argument and believe me when I tell you, that for me I would never go back to the person I was before Christ. I am not trying to change your mind about this “pagan holiday” but am just answering your question. You see I celebrate because Praise God, He loved me enough to send His one and only son to die for me and He changed my life forever. I know that He has a sense of humor because He loves a scattered brain, foot-in-mouth constantly woman like myself. I say this with all the love in the world even though I have never met you . . . How can Jesus’ words be true about healing in His name and the glorious new birth “of water and of the Spirit” (John 3:5-8), that began in Acts 2:4 and 2:38, be true if He never existed? I am a witness that He still exists in Heaven.
Easter is pagan too. It was a mis-translation in the old King James. (One of many) The word Easter is actually derived from the pagan fertility goddess, Ishtar.

What no one says is that at some point the atheists all had ancestors who were either Jewish ,Buddhist, hindu or Christian. The act of following concepts of compassion, caring for their fellow man and woman was just a thought that popped in their heads. It came from teachings of religion. Although I celebrate Christmas I know that the 25th of December was a date used help gentiles understand the teachings of Jesus by incorporating pagan concepts. There is no record of the true date of Christ’s birthday but those of us who celebrate are merely celebrating the joy of his birth regardless of when the true date was. I pity all those who resent a birthday celebration just because the choose not to believe of the existence of God or Jesus. No one can force you to believe in someone or something and no one else is stopping you from not believing. Why must you insist on making not believe. If I wish you Merry Christmas all I am doing is saying enjoy. This would be no different than telling you to have a nice day.
