looks like the New Madrid fault line may be showing some signs of life as A 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook parts of western Tennessee and southeast Missouri early Friday morning. The earthquake reportedly struck around 8:45 a.m. Preliminary earthquake reports show the quake was centered about six miles north-northwest of Tiptonville, Tn.
and 26 miles west of Union City, Tn. Residents in Sikeston might have also felt the ground shake, since the quake hit only about 28 miles away. Numerous people in Portageville say they felt it. The USGS reports the earthquake shook 7.8-miles from the surface. READ MORE
