So how does the White House feel about the recent deployment of missiles to the Iranian Nuclear Site by Tehran? According to a new report the White House press secretary, Josh Earnest said Monday the administration finds “objectionable” Iran’s deployment of Russian-made surface-to-air missile launchers at a key underground nuclear facility but described the weaponry as “defensive in nature.” “It obviously is something that we are deeply concerned about,” Earnest told a daily briefing when asked about the S300 missile system.

But asked whether Iran’s acquisition of the sophisticated weaponry violated U.S. law, Earnest said he would check, but it was his understanding that it did not. “Much of the legal architecture that’s in place … both at the U.N. at in the United States frankly is related to Iran’s offensive military capabilities,” he said. “And this system that they have purchased from the Russians, while we find it objectionable, is defensive in nature.” READ MORE
