Torrential rainfall in Moscow just shattered a 129-year-old record for the heaviest August downpours according to reports from the state weather service.  Residents pressed through flooded streets after more than 48 millimetres (1.9 inches) of rainfall hit the city, authorities said, nearly double the previous maximum recorded back in 1887.
