Remember the Toxic Algae Bloom that recently prompted a “State of Emergency” after covering large portions of Florida beaches? According to a new report from LiveScience, This toxic algae bloom was so big it was actually  captured in stunning images taken from space!  According to the report, The NASA images show that Alge Bloom covered Lake Okeechobee in Florida this summer.

The toxic Algae bloom appeared in May and spread to 33 square miles, In area, covering a good chunk of the 730-square-mile body of water — This is the second-largest lake entirely within the contiguous United States (second only to Lake Michigan). SOURCE
