One of the three officers killed on Sunday has been identified as Montrell Jackson — a 10-year-veteran who recently shared a powerful Facebook post about the physical and emotional hurdles of being an officer after Alton Sterling’s death. Jackson, 32, leaves behind a wife and a 4-month-old baby boy. On July 8, Jackson wrote on Facebook about the recent “trying times.” The Facebook post was shared with Jackson’s Facebook friends, but several friends shared screenshots of the Facebook post on Sunday. You can read Jackson’s full Facebook post below:
“I’m tired physically and emotionally. Disappointed in some family, friends, and officers for some reckless comments but hey what’s in your heart is in your heart. I still love you all because hate takes too much energy but I definitely won’t be looking at you the same. Thank you to everyone that has reached out to me or my wife it was needed and much appreciated. I swear to God I love this city but I wonder if this city loves me. In uniform I get nasty hateful looks and out of uniform some consider me a threat. I’ve experienced so much in my short life and these last 3 days have tested me to the core. When people you know begin to question your integrity you realize they don’t really know you at all. Look at my actions they speak LOUD and CLEAR. Finally I personally want to send prayers out to everyone directly affected by this tragedy. These are trying times. Please don’t let hate infect your heart. This city MUST and WILL get better. I’m working in these streets so any protestors, officers, friends, family, or whoever, if you see me and need a hug or want to say a prayer. I got you.” READ MORE
His life mattered….downed by his own race.. so what is their..Black Lives Matter, Excuse?
Is this a Christian site?
How can you say something so irresponsible and expect to be taken seriously? You are definitely a part of the problem in this nation, praying that you get a better understanding on current events. You should probably start with some history lessons.
Pray. Pray hard America, that this insanity will end. Too much hate.
At the end of the day this is what is really, really being missed in all of this and history can teach us a good lesson in this. At the end of the civil war came the formation of a solidified federal government. And guaranteed after the smoke clears, it will be the federal government with more power, more authority and more control in matters of local, state and community than we bargained for, because neither citizen group has anything to gain by killing each other, but as always out of every tragedy our government has usurped more authority and have given us less rights and freedoms. Every single time. The cynical mind has to consider, who has to gain from Citizen killing citizen; white man killing black man, and black man killing white man? Nothing. But from such bloodshed, we will eventually see that even this government will eventually say and execute, what I believe they have been waiting to do since George H.W. Bush announced the New World Order, I believe they will eventually say they have no choice but to intervene in matters of local and state, and will make every attempt to suspend local and state constitutions citing because we have failed to “police” ourselves, and in the name of solidarity and peace they will bring law and order out of this chaos. Order out of chaos is their motto, they are the authors of confusion, and they use the storm to benefit the ends through their bloody means. Always look to who has the most to gain and the least to lose.
