Talk about earthquakes in “various places”, Saturday afternoon residents of Florida may have felt a rare occurrence near the coast of Daytona Beach region? That’s because the USGS reported a magnitude-3.7 earthquake struck off the coast of Daytona Beach Shores. According to a local affiliate in Florida, WESH, The Earthquake occurred at 4 p.m., and was centered about 105 miles off the coast of Daytona Beach.

Florida is not considered to be a state that is subject to earthquakes and only several minor shocks have occurred in the state. Only one earthquake has ever  caused damage in Florida, according to the USGS. While Earthquakes off the Central Florida coast are rare, USGS data reveals that a similar weaker earthquake occurred in the same location last month. SOURCE
