The majority of American adults believe it’s a good idea for couples to live together before tying the knot. That according to a recent study by the Barna Group. Two thirds of adults (65 percent) think cohabitation before marriage is good, compared to one-third (35 percent) who disagree.
Unsurprisingly, the most religious groups in America are the least likely to think cohabitation is a good idea. Scripture is clear – the person that you are intimate with is your partner for life. The Marriage Ceremony is merely a formality to finalize it here on earth in front of witnesses, but God who sees all, witnesses the consensual union in its physical act and regards the two as one flesh.
So wedding rings do not make a marriage, nor does a church ceremony make a marriage, nor does a piece of paper form the Government make a marraige, its the consensual giving of a hymen by a believing woman to her believing husband that God considers as a marriage before the witnesses in heaven and the one who sits upon the throne.
